Children’s Author and Academic Researcher
Reem Saleh Al-Gurg is an Emirati author specializing in children's literature, known for her ability to connect with younger generations through her meaningful and engaging stories. Her literary journey began with her daughter "Wad," inspiring her to create Arabic stories that reflect the culture and heritage of the UAE. This led to the creation of the “Wad and Waleed” series, which narrates the adventures of two children exploring the seven emirates, and was published in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.
Reem is a holder of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Sharjah (2004), a Master's in Nutrition from King's College in the UK, and a PhD in Health Policy and Management from the University of Bradford.
In 2009, Reem became the first Arab woman to enter the Guinness World Records for creating the world's largest wooden mosaic, entitled “Desert Vision”.
